| This is the process that sets the bag up and prepares it to accept product from the filler. You have two choices; you can do it by hand or with a machine! (And both alternatives have advantages and disadvantages).
With A Machine (Complete Automation)
- This type of machinery consists of:
- Automatic baggers for small bags
- Automatic baggers for large bags
- Vertical Form Fill & Seal (V.F.F.S)
- Pouch Machines
At this time, ZiggyPak is not involved with Vertical Form Fill & Seal (V.F.F.S) or Pouch Machines.

By Hand
- This option is sometimes chosen if you have a start-up company, a new product, limited resources, a special bag, slow speeds, a test market etc. This option is sometimes overlooked, however, it offers some distinct advantages including:
- Low capital investment - simpler equipment
- Gets your product to market quicker (2-3 weeks machinery delivery time vs. 10-14 weeks).
- Flexibility to change package - because there is no machine doing the bag handling, you can run different styles of bags instantly.
- Easy to install/set-up/move
- Simple to learn the equipment
- Small footprint and flexible layout
Disadvantages include:
- Additional Labor is required.
- Limited in speed - one person can only do about 8-12 bags per minute (depending on the product.)
